have i ever told you how i love usher?

well i do.

which is a fact i was reminded of by craig david. craig david got in to the mix because i was checking out the celebrity play lists on i-tunes and after i'd checked out all the people who are actually good and noted that many of them listen to lame-o songs i thought i'd look at the b and c grade celebrities. and i stumbled upon SOLID GOLD. craig david's is the best so far: not only does he have two usher songs, he also rolls out the jodeci and terence trent d'arby (and not wishing well either, his favourite: let her down easy). see SOLID GOLD.

anyway, as a result i've been listening virtually non stop to usher's "you make me wanna". which incidentally i think i hated in 1997 but now it is basically my favourite song of all time. in part because of this video clip:


if you can't bear watching the whole thing skip to two mintues thirty and watch from there. there is a banana involved. another thing i love about this video clip is that they obviously just borrowed someone's house and lit some candles in the back to make it look flash. and good god it works.

i have watched the video clip about five times in the last hour and i can't pick which guy i like the most. towards the end yellow shirt wins my heart but for the first two mintues white and green is in the lead big time. anyway, like one of the youtube commenters says: what would have taken this clip from great to excellent would have been more dancing. like usher in the real videoclip.

i might play it at my wedding should i ever marry someone who i had set up with someone and then they ended up hooking in to me secretly and then breaking up with the person i had set them up with. then you make me wanna would be our song and it would just be too cute for words. although it is a pretty involved way to find a partner now i think about it. hmmm usher is mental. but i still love him.
