i feel like a playboy bunny that has been picked out of the mansion and now has to find a new place to live. oh, hold on .... that was a movie i saw tonight. 4/10.

although, i do actually feel a bit like that. tomorrow my secondment ends. and even though i have been tempted to turn to prayer to make this day come more quickly, tonight i got yelled at over the phone because obviously i'm on call 24/7 and it made me feel a little retarded and like i needed to stick around to redeem myself. plus i got a present and a card so sweet that made me want to cry. being kicked out of the mansion is making me all emotional.

don't cry for me though. because i'm making plans to go to miami in november. to art deco it up with the cuban hotties and hulk hogan.

hello all you hulkamaniacs out there. are you living by the three demandments? if not i'm gonna bring my atomic leg drop and make you hurt just like you were rowdy roddy piper and it was 1989 all over again.

actually, that picture of hulk has helped no end. i'm down right chirpy again. which hopefully means i'm ready to start on my ambitious craft project: making a dress out of my business cards. if it takes more than ten minutes though i cannot guarantee it will hold my attention. wish me luck.

so i don't sleep these days.

i was worried it was my sleeping conditions. after confirming my dream catcher was in place i decided to make my bed properly and see if that helped.

it didn't.

so obviously i decided i needed to buy new bed linen. tonight is the real test run... fingers crossed.

the good news is that i have the olympics to keep me company into the wee small hours. and now that nu zild success has made me proud to be a k1w1 i'm obsessed. i have such a crush on valerie vili i can *not* get enough of her walking around the bird's nest with the flag draped all over her winning self. and thanks to the wonders of the internet i can watch it any time i please.

you know what else i watch any time i please (provided i can go to a cinema and pay my hard earned cash for a ticket)? mamma mia. i saw it again. it was as - if not more - awesome than i remember. pierce brosnan's return to his remington steele form was long awaited but TOTALLY WORTH IT. actually, who needs sleep when you can watch this clip over, and over, and over, and over again?

i am in hoi an. it is beautiful. and i wonder if monty was kicked off dancing with the stars. probably. if i could be bothered i'd check stuff but i'd rather await an email update from AL (hint hint).

i love vietnam.

today i went to my son sanctuary and then climbed marble mountain, which wasn't a mountain so much as a staircase, and hung out in caves EVEN THOUGH I COULD HEAR ANIMALS SQUEEKING. i am so goddamned brave.

i have eaten a lot of great food too. oh my god, the vietnamese know how to make a salad. light on the vegetables, heavy on the vinegar and shrimps. they also know how to make bread and banana pancakes. the two things (apart from cheese) i think may be my very favourite foods of all time. the vietnamese don't really know how to run hotels yet. which is why so far we've been kicked out of one hotel and in another asked if three people could share one bed (on the assurance it was a big bed, but guess what: it wasn't). everything else though is faultless. unlike my bike riding. which if you are my facebook friend you may have realised - my cycling is crap. which is why i fell off into a tree when i was trying to find china beach. like a soldier in the vietnam war i sought refuge on the white sand shores of china beach. but no dana delany for me. only a street urchin trying to sell me beads. i showed her my injury, seeking sympathy. she told me shit happens. i bought a five dollar necklace. afterall, it was good advice.

anyway, one other thing about vietnam, it is effing hot. which is why i'm in the hotel lobby right now. i came out to get them to adjust the air-con to twenty degrees because it feels like thirty five in our room. they seemed to have done it but to be sure i'm lingering out of the room as long as poss.

tomorrow is my last day in hoi an. i will miss it, but there is so much more of vietnam to see. and since i declare whole heartedly that i love vietnam, i guess i'd better get right on now and see it.

goodnight (and i hope monty made it to the finale).
