birthday season continues. yesterday was the hebequeen slash hobos birthday. i hope she had a great day. i will add her birthday card to the pile in my room that remain unsent. it is ironic the way i love writing mail but hate actually sending it. one of those love hate things i was talking about last week.

actually i have a love hate thing with birthdays. especially mine. don't even talk to me about how i feel i was underserved by my workplace this year (ie NO BIRTHDAY CAKE. NO MORNING TEA. NOTHING). again though, note the irony of my unsent birthday cards. i commit the underwhelming people on their birthday crimes too.

"this one goes out to all the birthday ladies" argh, paul mccartney makes me feel nauseous. in a bad way.

other birthdays of note this week include my sister, who has given birth to the lights of my life and for that i'll always be grateful, and jo hubris who i may actually get to meet at some point. maybe (if the stars align). speaking of stars, it was paul mccartney's birthday some time this week (fyi my turn offs include paul mccartney and people who look like him) and lionel ritchie turns older tomorrow too. according to the capital times anyway. a big birthday week you could say. which is why i need to get on with my posting things. number one priority tomorrow - THE POST SHOP.

an attitude is a terrible thing to a waste. according to good fridge magnets everywhere.

today's life lesson was all about having the right attitude. and the right attitude is all about making inappropriate comments at works. like telling my staff they are fired because they can't read my mind. david brent is my freakin' hero.

my managerial style confirmed, i treated myself to pizza from the med. food warehouse and speacial cotton make up pads to take off my nailpolish - to replace the toilet paper i had ineffectually been using for the same purpose. my nails never looked so clean.

i nearly treated myself to some christmas cards too. i know what you're thinking: christmas cards??? well, you would be more like CHRISTMAS CARDS YOU HAVE TO BUY THEM, if you had seen them. actually, let me treat you. here they are...

in short i didn't buy them. because i'm going to be in the US of A in september and THEN i will buy enough stationery to last two to three years. at least. getting excited about international travel is so the right attitude to have.

it would be much easier if i could remember my credit card number. then i could buy endless amounts of stationery online without having to go find my wallet. because it is the going and finding my wallet part that allows me to think about whether i need it or not and inevitably i end up deciding that since i only know like three people who i write letters to there is no point me buying a 40 piece hula girl stationery set.

there is also a sixteen sheet set with envelopes AND STICKERS that currently has my affection.

alternatively i could move to the US of A. reasons for me doing this are as follows:

1. i already have the badge

2. if i were in the US of A i would have more reason for correspondence and therefore stationery*, and

3. there is great stationery in the US of A. at least if the internet is anything to go by (and of course the internet is the truth, so it is basically settled)**
there are of course the other reasons for a move to the US of A. i could study or move closer to where all the matrimony of people i know seems to take place. plus, hello, i'm going to be in the US of A in september anyway, i could save money on the return airfare by not returning. but i think above all good stationery is the primary reason one would want to move to the US of A. god bless the US of A indeed.

*i would write to you but i probably don't know your address. if you give it to me i will write you a handsome letter.
** my actual fave stationery that involves cute animals doing cute things, like knitting, is actually a new zealand brand of stationery but they quote in US dollars because they know where the stationery market is, obviously. so a move stateside will not impact on my access to the very cutest stationery in the world.
