this whole blogging every day business is difficult. i was walking home from the bus tonight thinking about how i would totally post about all the things i feel guilty about today. then i got home and was like "oh my god you're so middle class. get over it". and being middle class is super uncool. obviously.

which in part is why i'm now watching more television than you can poke a stick at. programmes i'm following but haven't yet mentioned on the blog include: rock of love with brett michaels, so you think you can dance and american idol. they are all truly outrageous.

anyway, i reference how i'm bringing tele back because i have discovered that white people don't own televisions. hello, this website stole my mojo (even if technically their post existed before i brought tele back, please know that i was thinking it months and months ago. just like how i invented the concept for the truman show years before the movie came out, except in my head it was better and didn't have jim carey).

so i guess i'm saying i'm an ideas person. which is both a blessing and a burden. much like being middle class probably, not that i'd actually know. obviously. but also, is the realisation that i'm an ideas person enough content for my blog post?

because i'm posting something every day i am constantly on the lookout for blogable material. today i started emailing myself ideas during the day so i don't forget them. today's emails were pathetic. the best was something about how awesome joan armatrading is. well, how awesome one of her songs is anyway. click here to watch some budget video clip of it. i'm right on target, my aim is straight.....

and did you know that mandy moore covered it? it is as wholesome as you'd imagined. google it if you're brave enough.

and yes, some days i can write screens worth of text about why some song is my favourite song of all time. but it is too soon after i declared on sunday morning that modest mouse's float on is my new favourite song. which reminds me, white people love indie rock.

what am i saying, am i poking fun of myself? doubtful, due to me being both perfect and an ideas person (ie i am getting this blog post on levels you couldn't even imagine). but maybe. who knows. but in case you were wondering, i'm in awe of how incoherent i am being. i guess that is what happens when i set myself stupid challenges like daily blog posts.

people are inspiring. first erin represents hilarious life moments in simple drawings. then i decide to write a zine. however, i haven't even read another persons zine yet so for now i'm copying erin's hilarity. i call today's comic strip HOW TO WRITE THE BEST BLOG POST EVER. and it sums up basically how i work my magic. funny cos it is true.
tonight i also drew an hilarious slice of life comic strip moment about the crush of my life duncan and how he is probably madly in love with me. i drew it for my bff at the quiz. but don't ask me about the quiz because even though i'm the world's authority on marty mcfly i didn't freakin even get third place. that's right. i had to settle for 4th. apparently there is no money attached and you could get a hug from the barperson of your choice. but since the man of my dreams is an alcoholic and shouldn't be working at a bar i chose noone.
anyway, the comic strip about duncan was funny cos not only did it ring true re: his likely love for me but also it poked fun of trademe. that's what the public want in their slice of life comics, both topicality and truth. i offer both. i expect my zine to sell like hotcakes.

i was reading some other blog and they were talking about taking time to prepare blog posts.

whatever.

i write the best blog i know, and it involves one thing: images.

there are two approaches. approach one: look at my cellphone to see what pxts i've taken that day

and if any are worthy: blog about it. like this

_________

in scrabble tonight these were my left over letters. i drew the heart, because anyone who has played scrabble knows there is no heart tile. naturally i thought i was hilarious - the way i arranged my letters. but then i was hysterical because i won, due to getting the word zinc on a triple word score. 45 points. awesome.
_________

approach two: take about a million self portraits, talk about my day and how hot i am and voila, success. and there is of course a series of other approaches. a personal favourite is the blog posts with pictures of edible nephew ryles. people love to know about other people's family. which is why christmas letters are so anticipated.

i do also love pictures of a famous person, which is usually of someone i will marry or pictures related to a song i haven't been able to get out of my head. these can be unexpected winners. like the dire straits image. due to that image i get about twenty extra hits on my blog per day.

lastly there is the posts where i google image search something and something random, requiring me to share with you, comes up. on its own it is a great giggle for me, i sense some people don't get them. which turns my giggle into a full on laugh. honestly, i'm hilarious. and sooooo off the cuff.

today hrc got a new cellphone. which means that obviously i needed to take a self portrait so that every time i call her my picture comes up. and guess what? i've lost my self portrait mojo.

i went to this website on how to write an awesome blog post, and the only tip was read each paragraph after you've written it. if it doesn't add anything to what your main point is, delete it. i am not good at following this tip, although i respect it whole heartedly.

i just added a photo on to my amazon dot com profile. along with a sassy comment underneath it. i'm not sure why i did it, i mean, who will read my amazon dot com profile. i don't plan to become a listmania contributor.

i am reading zadie smith's on beauty and relating to the daggy middle daughter. how sad for me. i hope she turns out to be the sassy super hero. and if so i hope i relate to her sassy side as much as i relate to her daggy side. also i hope she hooks in to the handsome boy.

we might get married.

i wore only sneakers from the mid nineties (when i stopped wearing doc martins for school - not the cool kind of doc martins either - the NZ made variety) until i started work. a six year period. my current sneakers are ugly and functional. i want sassy sneakers. i bet i can buy them on the internet.

anyway, my point is that i'm all over the place today. i blame the weather.
