most mornings getting up is my enemy. and my enemy wins every friggen day. i resist though. which is why three mornings in a row i've had less than ten minutes to get on all my clothes for the day (which usually takes minimum two attempts anyway due to me being indecisive), pack my bag, make school lunch and find a matching headband or ribbon.

somethings gotta give, and recently that has meant buying my lunch and forgetting to put stuff in my bag.

the ribbon is a non negotiable.

part of why i am so late in the morning is i'm afraid of ghosts these days. thanks film festival! i saw the orphanage. it was horrible. i hated every moment of it. i can't write about it because it is night time and my heart is racing just thinking about thinking about it. gross. anyway it was probably well done. who knows, i watched it through gaps in my fingers. 0/10.

in contrast i completely relished the order of myths. about mardi gras in mobile alabama. with its pomp, ceremony and racism. it was both loving and shocking and made me wish that i had a box of moon pies to eat. due to the numerous poems from mobile, alabama's school chidlren about the wonders of moon pies and how they were like pillows of marshmallow and pools of chocolate fudge sauce. sadly, after extensive internet research, i discover they are basically mallowpuffs. btw when you google mallowpuff and griffins one of the top few sites you come across is this. anyway, order of myths 8.5/10.

i have seen two other movies recently too, thanks to cpw's internet smarts. the first is charlie bartlett, where i fell in love with a character actor in a supporting role, playing the thug. tyler hilton. hopefully not of the hotel hiltons. anyway the movie was more endearing than the trailer would have you believe. 8/10.

and last night i saw teeth. DISTURB. seriously. poster child for chastity discovers she has vagina dentata. hilarity ensues. well, more like terror and severed penises. all tastefully done of course. 8.5/10. it got minus point five for having the freaky guy from nip tuck in it. this is the second time i've seen him in a role that required his penis being cut up. hmm...

you have probably noticed that i'm an ideas person. one day i'm talking about something i've invented and the next day every tom, dick and harry is in to it.

things i have made cool include:

  • justin timberlake
  • bows
  • sweet mother's kitchen (although i'm over this now, obviously)
  • talent quests
  • television
  • the colour pink (about five years ago. i'm over this now too)
  • waterslides
  • pottery (until the potter's association started writing passive aggressive poetry about me. at that point i got over it)
  • skivies

another thing i made cool was knitting at the cross (not singlehandedly, but still...) and then weeks later TADA! a knitting night is introduced. so, it seems natural to assume that a tomato sauce bottle drawing club will start from next week as i spent my evening drawing this:

sharpen your HB2 pencils because you heard it here first: drawing tomato sauce containers is the new hot thing.

today has been a hard day. i've been meeting on the same topic for two full working days. i'm mentally exhausted. and after walking to and from town today in jandals i have a blister on my toe. so i am physically compromised also.

so

it is therefore hard for me to maintain my unquestionable cool when i see articles like this in the latest in style magazine.

trend: BOWS!!!!!! i so told you all that last week. freakin' mojo stealers. they didn't even reference me or this blog. some days life just gets you down.

can you believe it isn't two thousand and six? i keep correcting people when they say 2 oh oh 7 in meetings and whatnot. face job.

anyway, i was thinking that last year seems an eternity away, but i never really said goodbye to it properly. not like some awesome people who bothered to kind of do a sort of year in review. so anyway, i'm going to be a copy cat. face job again.

although, obviously i have different categories. i have to think about what is really important to me.

best selfportrait might be the profile picture i use. although anything which makes me look like an alien always gets me excited.

best outfit, well i would probably say my dress with the bow only because i feel like a real lady in it, although the corporate styles of my blue pinstripe mixed with my bright red cardigan have become an interview staple.

best fashion discovery is the use of red bows as a both a statement and a signal to boys that you're looking for your blind date. in fact bows were my power shape for the last part of oh six, a motif that continues so far in oh seven.

best holiday destination is adelaide (aust) and akaroa (nz), suggesting that oh six was a good year for the letter a. another reason to love the letter a is the ex internet dater. but i shall not go on.

best way to spend a saturday or sunday morning was eating scrambled eggs at malo, which doesn't even exist anymore. things change so fast.

best new power: the power of crochet.

best comment is all of them. even the spam. they all bring me such joy. hint hint.
