in the early hours of friday morning i was attacked by an evil cat*.

apart from confirming cats are trouble, the moral of the story is trust your instincts. before i went to bed on thursday night i thought i could hear rustling under my bed. but since i basically think that every night due to my mouse phobia i was like "get over it already" and went to sleep. about five am there was a crashing and banging. and then something that i thought was a) the shadow of death coming to engulf me or b) a family of rats jumped out at me. i screamed and woke up half of my street i think. my flatmate had to rescue me.

okay, so the cat may actually have been afraid or whatever after jumping through my window during the day and then not being able to get out. but unlike me i bet the cat has slept since.

this is giving me comfort though:

not only is it an inspirational message but it has judd nelson in the video clip. back when he was hot. ie before suddenly susan. reow. but interestingly, can you BELIEVE that john parr was not thrilled to be working on st elmo's fire? that man did not know what a good thing he had. although thanks to wikipedia i gather he also worked on the soundtrack to three men and a baby. which is obviously one of the top ten movies of the eighties.

anyway, i should get up. out of bed. and head to craft two point oh. i might need to buy myself a present for being so brave with respects to the cat.

*this photo is a striking likeness to the cat that attacked me, but is not the acutal cat.

i'm just like mandy from the prune juice ad in that i'm a high flyer. for mandy it was melbourne one day, hong kong the next. for me replace melbourne with wellington and hong kong with hamilton and you'd be right on the money.

yesterday and today i was in hamiltron. city of religions. and hotel rooms that can transport you back to the 1980s by the power of their fabric alone.

as a result i came home and went straight to youtube where i discovered that i can remember every frame of the opening credits of the henderson kids.

but anyway, back to my non-time related travels. coming back to wellington i nearly vomited. my travel companion had got me liquored in the minature koru club in hamiltron airport. and this was nearly enough to cause the vomiting. added to that it was a bumpy ride. due to the weather i gather. the plane rocked as we came into wild at heart wellington airport. and even after it landed it was swinging a little. naturally, i giggled like a school girl for near five minutes. it is how i cope with life threatening stress.

then in the taxi back to my house i got the shakes. then i could barely open my front door. i managed it though, cos i'm amazing, and collapsed on my bed shortly after. work should either give me special credit for being such a high flyer or supply me with prune juice. i mean it seemed to work for mandy.
