inspired by a coworker, these are the days of my life...

as if it wasn't self evident, i'm addicted to the internet. at the moment this means HOURS on end going through the millions of things listed on etsy.com. which is how i bought most of my christmas presents for xmas 07. and some of the presents were so good i got jealous and either (a) kept them for myself (in the case of the best note cards of all time that i would show you but then i couldn't send one to you) or (b) ordered myself something similar. which is how i bought myself a print from strawberryluna who just happens to be my favourite etsy seller. and guess what? she included a FREE print when she sent me the print i bought. the print she sent: L is for Ladybug, which is pictured.

and obviously it is awesome.

so today i took all my new prints and a few old favourite items to a framer to get a framing quote and guess what: i wont be able to eat any time soon. because framing is the most expensive thing i've ever seen. so i had a tough choice and some things didn't make it to the framing stage. my prints, and my sound of music soundtrack, are being framed. but other treasures - like the tea towel my parent's got as a wedding gift with a 1970s couple bbqing with lots of orange and greens in the background will no doubt become moth eaten and forgotten about in my wardrobe (the other option was a two hundred dollar frame, i was prepared to risk the moths at that price).

in other news my feet just about exploded tonight in pain. i went to andrew bird at the san fran bathhouse. naturally, as happens at every concert i go to, i fell in love with the man on stage. and i think he could tell cos my smile probably beamed. but hello my feet were dying because my shoes were not built for long periods of standing around swaying slightly. i was so resentful of the encore i could barely contain myself. as i type this my feet continue to throb. i think i need a good night of sleep and dreaming.

tonight i hope i dream of how awesome my bedroom will look with all my framed goodies.
