time is freakin' standing still. i've basically been packed and ready since nine this morning. it is eleven. there are still two hours before i get picked up for the airport.

i'm not wasting my time though. i'm keeping occupied. which is code for taking lots of self portraits and staring at my bedroom ceiling. the self portrait thing is good news for you because there is a risk that i wont be putting up photos while i'm away (gasp). i always find it difficult to find internet cafes that let you upload photos so i'm not even taking the magic cord with me.


anyway, here is one of my selfies...


you will note that for the flight to hawaii i have gone with my "friends" necklace in the hopes that hrc is wearing her "best" necklace. also i'm wearing hawaiian blue. i 'm not sure actually that it's particularly hawaiian but still, it is blue. plus made by world. some new zealand fashions on the plane! that is literally front page news.

the other thing i've done today is make a selection of play lists for the plane. last time i went on a world tour i made cds for people. this time i'm less bothered with that, plus i'm run off my feet what with looking at the ceiling and whatnot. but if you want to share musical experiences with me here are some key songs:

• ludacris's pimping all over the world (cos hello, that's how we roll)
• jet boy, new york dolls (cos hello, guess who will be a doll in new york?)
• look good in leather, cody chestnut (cos hello, i will be shopping. i don't expect it to involve leather but you never know)
• lots of bjork (cos hello, i'm in training. i recommend venus as a boy. it is actually quite okay)
• sam's town, the killers (cos all the towns i'll be in will be uncle sam's)
• disco infiltrator, lcd soundsystem (cos hello, i'll be infiltrating some discos)
• lots of clap your hands say yeah (cos apparently in some NY clubs they just play without like advertising or whatever. at least according to hrc's guidebook. fingers crossed).
• danger! high voltage, electric 6 (cos hello, they are playing LA at a time that fits my schedule, unlike *some* bands who did not make it to the playlists out of spite. you know who you are interpol).
• stay, oingo boingo (cos hello most nonsense band name ever plus hello i'll be seriously considering staying at the end of my trip).

you should also listen to new york new york on repeat. and viva las vegas. an d ice cube's this is LA. and ludacris's version of georgia.

i should get back to the ceiling. i am very excited by travel as you may have noticed. not to mention the wedding of the century that is the cause for such travel. the ceiling is a calming influence.... is it one o'clock yet...
