inspired by a coworker, these are the days of my life...

where were you in 1989? i was in island bay. rockin' out to ian moss's tuckers daughter. and where am i today? i'm in newtown. rockin' out to ian moss's tuckers daughter. brilliant. i've moved two whole suburbs. which reminds me that stronger-light has been considering childhood and movement since childhood recently. bless her.

today is a study day. which means i'm procrastinating hardcore. in fact that's what i've been doing this weekend by and large. when i have stuff on my mind i tend to sleep lots. i hear that others get insomnia. lucky them.

today i've been a bit better. i studied at a cafe. the cafe breakfast acting as a reward. awesome i told myself. you wrote six words, you deserve blueberry pancakes and a flatwhite. but the thing is it is easy not to study when you are listening to a guy you kind of know and who has been to your house before for a party try and pick up the waitress. it was soooo distracting. she seemed into it too. which is surprising because said man is a bit creepy. but he is handsome. which will get a man a long way in this world. i guess.

anyway, tonight i will be better. i will actually write about two thousand words on discourse analysis and i will be really freakin' insightful about how discourses around socioeconomic inequalities are privileged over discourses around ethnic inequalities. and i will design a farcken amazing way to look into this in more depth. and perhaps, just perhaps, i will listen to some more ian moss and maybe, if i can handle it, stay up past nine pm.

Today I was supposed to be writing a short story about two teenaged girls set in the 1980s. I spent about three hours doing internet research in which I was trying to "evoke the 80s". I think I was probably stretching it a bit. Still at least I don't have to write about discoures analysis.

i do that too. 'wow erin, good job printing out the assignment. that's enough work for today.'

seriously. in my world printing out the assignment and not looking at a book, or notes, or even the actual assignment itself is considered studying.
