inspired by a coworker, these are the days of my life...

somedays i try to be so prepared. i get up early. i wear my hot new outfit that follws the school girl theme i've been working on lately. and prepare to go visit my baby nephew who has the measles. and i miss my bus and am forced to spend half an hour at the bus stop waiting for the next one.

so i take like a million self portraits.

check this sample photo out. i picked it due to the curl to the left of the picture. cute as.

and my phone has this super loud photo noise like a shutter clicking shut. and i can't figure how to turn it off. which means everyone on the street this morning would have heard me taking self portraits. that's if they didn't see me. and i should really face it: they saw me. i tried taking pictures of the scenery but it wasn't particularly satisfying and i felt worried that the people around me would think i was photographing them like some kind of crazed psychopath. i hope they just think i'm incredibly vain.

anyway, eventually my bus came. and i got to see ryles. ryles was in the hospital this week with his measles. it was super scary. i walked to the emergency room at eleven pm on monday convinced that when i got there i'd be told he had menningococcal. he didn't thank god. and when i got there he gave me kisses and hugs and i couldn't cry about how happy i was because i had to convince everyone that i was never worried in the first place. i'm a great actress so everyone was convinced and keeps talking about how it was so good i was there because i was so relaxed. that's me. laid back. relaxed. practical.

then this afternoon i gave ryles some creamed rice and instead of using his spoon he used his fist and then smashed his fist into my new outfit that looks like a school girl only cooler. and now my new school girl outfit needs to be dry cleaned. i would have told him off but i am so pleased he only has measles i just let him keep doing it. with this logic he'll get away with almost everything he does until he starts school. Posted by Picasa

The loud clicking noise you phone makes when taking pictures is a feature required by Japanese law.

Devices that take pictures have to make an audible sound. This was primarily to avoid drunk dodgy Japanese men taking pictures up women's skirts on the trains in Japan. I think the phone manufacturers have just kind of kept the feature I case any other country makes a similar law.
