if i were in to giving my blog entry titles i would call today's 'insecurity is totally cute' or something lame like that.

but before i get to that let me tell you something that is the very definition of the opposite of lame: gin cake. here pictured. not only did hels make me gin cake last night but she let me take some home with me. and i had it for lunch. and while i may have diabetes as a result i also had a smile on my face, i can tell you.


back to insecurity and how it is totally cute. surprisingly enough this relates to internet dating. som guy just sent me a message and it was so cute i'm going to reply at length because he totally made my day. first off it was a novel. quite different from the usual: nice profile (my profile is great, you should check it out) message that dominates the message initiating process. then he went on about his son (a son, i'm in love already) then tells me i'm zany or some such. and asks me if i read vis (??????????) comics (which obviously i don't, the tell tale sign being i have no idea what they are). also his profile talks about how he has just now come out of a long term relationship (the tell tale sign for this is every word on his profile, he really didn't need to be explicit about it). anyway, i think i might date him. because he's clearly insecure about this whole internet dating thing, and hello SNAP.

i'm so insecure i can't even tell you. anyway, i have limited it to a top five of my current insecurities:

1. that my friends all have parties without me
2. that people whose blogs i read are writing about me when they say girls who are obsessed with boyfriend suck (but i recognise this feeling may be more a case of delusions of grandeur than anything else)
3. that the one guy i liked on internet dating thinks i'm backwards because even though i'm charming in a really natural and witty way (or whatever) when i write my messages to him (both of them so far) i mistype and sound like a dork. i think it is called over thinking.
4. that the other guy who i don't like as much but you know, i'm all about the messaging, probably thinks i'm a dork too because i am about to tell him i hate live music. music should be listened to through ear phones, hello.
5. that people haven't left comments on my blog for like 48 hours. what is with that. i'm hilarious hello.

in addition to insecurity, do you want to know what is supercute? boys without front teeth. okay this may be a stretch. but my stupid brother was playing stupid rugby in the stupid rain this stupid labour day and got his front teeth smashed out of his stupid skull. the first thing that flashed through my head was how he is so beautiful and he went and ruined it. the second thing was the realisation that my father will be singing all i want for christmas is my two front teeth for the next three months solidly. dads! anyway, apparently they are back in. but wont last forever. so i'm sowing the seeds now. trying some small group action to convince the world that two missing front teeth = so hot right now. and not just in a prison chic way.
