have i told you about how i now have five strategic goals for the next five years?
it is on an a4 sheet of paper.
i keep it in my bag most of the time. so can refer to it and feel inspired all over again.
i had a three year plan once. and fulfilled everything in the three year plan within two and a bit years. because i am a nerd and can be faux focused when i need to be. but in forming the current five year plan i was neurotic. i cried in a meeting with my mentor and tried to make him diagnose me with clinical depression. he did not diagnose me that way. he didn't prescribe me drugs or anything. what is the point of having mentoring relationships with doctors if they don't give you the hookups. i mean, seriously?
anyway, i thought i would give you some advice on turning your ambitions into a one page strategic plan:
1. use a sharp pencil. this helps sharpen the mind.
2. make sure you have pictures to represent each goal. words are soooo 1990s.
3. make sure you only aim to attain things that you can draw or buy stickers for. for example, if you want to put "find the perfect man" for your goal, make sure you can get your hands on some simon le bon stickers already. if you're about finding the perfect gal, let me know. i can send you stickers of myself. i have reserve stocks.
4. draw yourself in the centre. with lots of cute question marks and a worried look on your face. people will comment on how cute this is.
now with these gems, i want you to go forth and make the worlds second most awesome strategic plan. i say second, because, obviously mine is the best ever. i would say the best there ever will be, but i have high hopes for my second five year plan, due for release in 2011.
inspired by a coworker, these are the days of my life...
