Pictured: my parents' dog, Jem, dressed up in a christmas ribbon

summary of my christmas presents 2005:

Most geek: the first edition of "challenge for health" (1967) from CG, which is awesome beyond words.

Most cheap and nasty: the beads from my relatives in hong kong. they have broken already

Most early: personalised postage stamps with one of my self portraits on them from HRC. i recommend it as a gift. they are marvellous. you can get them here.

Most handmade: the knitted toy and tea cosy from my mother. i love them and they make me want to cry because they are so cute. i wont though. cos i'm not that kind of girl.

Most appropriating my culture: the mass produced maori motifed "mink" blanket from my brother. it makes me look like a Maori princess. which i love.

Most cute: it's a tie here between my mother's knitting and the photo of my nephew in a duck suit.

Most random: the candles bought for me by my boss. appreciate the sentiment, but frankly it is quite random.

Most giveawayable: the shrek figurine i was 'gifted' at the christmas eve party. i spent all night carrying it around and hoping someone would swap. in the end i just plain gave it away. what the frick would I do with a shrek figurine.

and

Most edible: the awesome hamper, again from HRC. i so nearly got her the same thing. so it is v. lucky i didn't. ahe. as it was i got her a voucher from the same store.

tomorrow i leave on a week long roadtrip of the north island. there will not be any blogging. you will all miss me, i'm sure.

partially language barrier, partially my bad. i should have mentioned that the hamper was filled with delicious food, including fancy pasta and some chocolate.
