i am pretty sure that when a friend invites you around for dinner and then they happen to invite some single dude to dinner as well they are setting you up. even when they say "not a set up, promise". but anyway i had a great time.


mostly it was the food. excellent food. the company was alright but my wannabe matchmaker friend is not my man chuck woolery if you know what i mean. the lack of a love connection is a shame because all day i'd been talking to my co-woes about how i'd probably be a write off on friday - cos you know talking all night to my new boyfriend. and promising to bring him to cas-fri drinks because after twenty four hours we'd be inseparable.

but yeah, don't worry. i'm still on the market.

anyway, today was also important because i bought myself flowers. because i'm worth it. but i forgot there are no vases at work so my flowers are in a cereal container. so post modern. anyway the 'vase' dwarfs the flowers, but i still get little chills of happiness when i look at them.

speaking of chills, the weather. the "hot" topic of every lift i've been in today. "my oh my isn't it cold". it sure freakin' is. according to the lift convos it is colder than anyone remembers last year. me included. for cas-fri tomorrow i will probably wear my gumboots and some thermal socks. so when i catch the lift up to my desk i can roll out lines like "i can't believe i've had to dress up so warmly - first week of spring my foot!" and "yes, gumboots: better to be safe than sorry i find". i am going to be a hit in the workplace. hurrah.
