the reason i went to the supermarket was to get the ingredients for these...
they were meant to be low fat apricot and orange muffins. but i added dark chocolate just to make it less low fat and more delicious. that's me... always in pursuit of the delicious. i think i kind of succeeded too because they were a burst of flavour, but i'd imagine they'd be a bit boring without the chocolate.
i made the muffins as a gift for my friend who just bought a house. honestly, i buy cameras and my friends buy houses. they must all be super jealous of me. they may make a few thousand dollars when they sell their houses in a few years but i'm going to make absolute millions from my photography career.
anyway my friend's house is nuts. the old owners were clearly crazy. and they left for australia and their new home without taking their hundreds of gnomes and assorted ornaments. and i'm talking literally hundreds. not even in homeperm hyperbole. this was one of my favourites...
after hours of watching food tv and gossiping i left and went to phase two of my day... celebrating hrc's birthday. i have been planning this for ages in some ways, with the first gift bought in april. and another being the subject of a wide google search before i settled on an etsy provider of scrabble related presents.
the present not pictured was the 'experience' present. i booked us in for full body massages as a birthday treat to hrc. it was only the best thing to ever happen to me. i thought i'd be against it, what with it involving someone touching my feet but it turned out having foot massages is what has been missing in my life. it also turned out that it got a lot more intimate than just a foot massage as after like 40 minutes lying on my front the massage therapist was all like turn over. anyway, i might be over my fears of massage now.
the day was capped off with scrabble games at the southern cross bar, nepalese curry at taste of nepal and banoffi pie at dorothy's. and gifts from the USA and lena. including these fun fruits. which became my primary photo subject for the evening. honestly, i have hundreds. i just love the simplicity.
and now i'm lying in bed about to finish season four of gilmore girls on dvd. i think this is basically the perfectest saturday.
