today there are no photos on my blog. only a link in memory of a friend who died this weekend.

the link is to a paua fritter that has appeared more than once on my blog. the fritter's creator was one of my dad's best friends and i grew up with his daughters. when i found out about his death i cried. when people die, especially unexpectedly, it is always shocking.

ultimately, i've had a fantastic weekend: flirting with waiters with hels, mussel fritters at shed five, drinking cognac with two strange men until the wee small hours, buying high end fashions, rocking my new jacket all over the cbd, dancing to the kooks and soup dragon in front of hundreds of people and eating yum char. but i liken myself to a character in some turn of the millennium social commentary movie where i walk around feeling unable to connect with any of it. death sux.
