i had a picnic more or less here (mostly less, because hello i don't tramp i stroll and i only strolled half an hour from the carpark). there was avocado as well as onion tarts and cups of tea and swiss biscuits. basically i was in heaven. i took a photo for you.
i also got a home cooked meal, which was delicious, and cointreau chocolates. all for being me. if wairarapa continues to treat me this way i could be a regular visitor.
and all of this came after i went to carterton, an integral township in the wairarapa, and had strong coffee and delicious sweet food at NC's house. i took another photo for you after i had already demolished half of the home baking ...
also i have slightly pink skin from the experience. which means it is summer. at last. even if only a mild summer. still better than no summer. which is what i was preparing myself for.
if i didn't have pink skin, i would still know it was summer. because i sat on a rock in the middle of a river with my feet in the water and i didn't freeze to death or get frost bite or anything. in fact it was pleasant.
i could get used to this summery atmosphere. and the relaxed days filled with visiting, picnicing and being cooked meals. i am beginning to realise office work is so over rated.who knew?
***i invented this term satellite urban area. but basically i mean the place where city folk go to have weekends in b and bs.
