but overwhelmingly parties rule. if you were unlucky and missed the party (and here in particular, but not exclusively, i'm talking to *pete* who didn't manage to make the journey from the us of a) stink for you.
i got pre party nerves. as one does. when i get nervous about shit i procrastinate. so i wasn't ready when the first guests arrived. hell, i was in the shower. fortunately s-l was there to welcome on my behalf.
i turned my outdoors into a work of art to encourage outdoor activities.
but most people stayed in the kitchen. cos that's what people do at parties. this is an annoying thing, by the way. but in my tiny house it is inevitable.
and i forgot how since it was my birthday people might bring presents. which probably sounded like a lie when i said it last night. i have a new tea house. that i can infuse my tea with. i need to throw a tea party immediately so that i can show it off. alternatively i will take it to work and show it off every day around three pm. i also have a set of books from AL including the first babysitters club book and Judy Blume's forever. i started reading forever last night. farcken katherine bearch. she has it so easy. number one she is tall and skinny from her description and number two: the boy she is hot for is unambiguous and decisive. i think this is a miracle.
someone who adores me made me a cake
(and a collage card. i heart collage)
and GKor took it upon himself to play dj. and there was dancing. 'turn around, bright eyes. every now and then i fall apart. turn around bright eyes. every now and then i fall apart. and i need you now, tonight. and i need you more than ever...' when i hear that song i can't help myself. i'm on the dancefloor doing actions and everything.
and i kissed him. on the cheek but. i got someone else to kiss him at the same time. so that he could have two girls at once or whatever as a birthday treat. to bid him farewell as he left his twenties and entered phase 30+.
oh and i made some awesome sangria. and when i bought gin before the party the man at the liquor store IDed me. i said "bless you". and then told the man who i adore who thought i was 31 repeatedly. just to rub in the fact he was so wrong about my age. why am i so hung up on this i wonder.
i'm hung up on other stuff too but that is an entirely different blog post.
one last thing, my friends are awesome. i heart my friends also.

Awesome party!! Fab sangria and how about that fancy platter of cheese and crackers? Whoever put that together in the shape of a half sun is soooo creative.
I am hungover but filled with happy party memories
glad you liked the sangria s-l. thanks for being an awesome party helper.
and hels, it is essential that one has happy memories from one of my parties.
also two late additions:
one - i discovered my bathroom scales are broken following the party. who the hell weighs themselves at a party? especially as it was THE PARTY OF THE CENTURY. i now have visions of a weightwatchers meeting in there while everyone else was eating potato pom poms.
two - i had an awesome party. let's do it again next year.
I have a confession to make. I love shoes sooooo much. Yep. Shoes. Shoes. Shoes
oh and when i said i heart my friends i don't heart all my friends. by the way. some of my friends can go to hell. for crimes such as stealing my identity. i would never say "i love shoes shoes shoes shoes shoes or whatever". even though i do. and also strong light did have awesome boots on last night. they were so hot right then.
happy birthday to a fellow aries!
somtimes people weigh themselevs at other peoples place in the hope that their scales may tell a nicer version of reality - glad to say l it wasn't me becasue I never located the bathrooom...
funky dj and awesum 31st party
thanks lisa ann.
and muzza. i gave you a tour but it stopped after the first room because you were so mean about my bedroom. maybe i shouldn't have told you it was where the magic happened. i'm all regrets.
Flew in, got the cab from the airport but drove in circles for like an hour looking for your place. I think I saw the house finally, but I was getting tired at that point, and figured maybe some other time would be better, so I had him take me back to the airport to catch an earlier flight home. Went through Seattle instead of LA -- longer distance, but shorter layover, so it ended up being the same.
I'm going to suggest maybe you draw me a map next time.
I keepa reading, but I no see no comment about the Excellent Advising I was doing, mucha less the outcome of said advising. The rumour mill only goes so far doggammit.
Was cool party btw.
*pete*. didn't you get the map. i was sure i sent it. it is cute cartoon map. i made it myself with the paint programme. next year i'll be sure to send it to you.
morgue. i have texted you already. but to reiterate... i'll fill you in tomorrow. i'll bring beer.
