i am owning my feelings this weekend. and they are as follows:

nauseous

on my plane home on friday (i was in christchurch) a chick lost her phone and held up the entire plane while it was found again. hurrah the phone was found. but not before tears.

and as the brooke fraser video clip came on the teeny tiny monitors that airnz has in its planes, phone chick cried and mouthed the words.

you, unlike me, might actually like brooke fraser. but i mean, come on! this is the video in question.

flattered

i went along to my friendly neighbourhood florist on saturday morning at around ten am. and was told it was a suprise to see a young person out and about so early. it was the florist equivalent of getting IDed at a liquor store. i played along. obviously.

afraid

two of the houses i was in this weekend had cats. cats catch mice. i actually became afraid of the second cat because it looked like it knew something. about me. i am considering counselling for my phobia.

sore

well, only in my throat. but it is mighty sore. i hate being sick. and the worst part of a sore throat is that you know it will be followed by snot. fricken awesome.

excited

because this weekend i launched my upcoming party. it is months away, but goddamn it i am excited. it will probably be the best party of the year. if everyone plays along that is.

confused

sunday is basically classic movie night if you are me. tonight, we watched giant. i am confused because james dean was only hot in the movie for about thirteen seconds. for the other three hours he looked like terry kiser in weekend at bernie's. rock hudson was entirely dull. and the directing or editing (hard to tell which) was infuriating. yet, i'd still recommend it.

tired

because i have only had like a three hour nap today. i said it was the throat, but actually naps rule and sometimes any excuse works. the only thing better than a nap is a good night's sleep. which is what i will attempt in three, two, one....

i'm just like mandy from the prune juice ad in that i'm a high flyer. for mandy it was melbourne one day, hong kong the next. for me replace melbourne with wellington and hong kong with hamilton and you'd be right on the money.

yesterday and today i was in hamiltron. city of religions. and hotel rooms that can transport you back to the 1980s by the power of their fabric alone.

as a result i came home and went straight to youtube where i discovered that i can remember every frame of the opening credits of the henderson kids.

but anyway, back to my non-time related travels. coming back to wellington i nearly vomited. my travel companion had got me liquored in the minature koru club in hamiltron airport. and this was nearly enough to cause the vomiting. added to that it was a bumpy ride. due to the weather i gather. the plane rocked as we came into wild at heart wellington airport. and even after it landed it was swinging a little. naturally, i giggled like a school girl for near five minutes. it is how i cope with life threatening stress.

then in the taxi back to my house i got the shakes. then i could barely open my front door. i managed it though, cos i'm amazing, and collapsed on my bed shortly after. work should either give me special credit for being such a high flyer or supply me with prune juice. i mean it seemed to work for mandy.

here is a home truth. it is important to take a giant bite out of life.

here is another home truth... i'm awesome. firstly, i live the kind of life where you can wake up in gisborne and lie in bed until after eight thirty on a tuesday morning. and where i get to be kissed on the cheek by a variety of older men at hour intervals throughout the day. and where i get to sit in the east coast sun drinking coffee before boarding a plane to wellington where i get my awesomeness independently verified.

how was my awesomeness independently verified? two words: quiz night. how about another two words: first place.

tonight the milton bradley players (my quiz team of two) beat all comers in an epic battle for a fifty dollar bar tab*. do you KNOW how many two dollar milkshakes that is? heaps.

this description of my day barely scratches the surface, but i have an episode of grey's anatomy to watch before i retire for the evening so i simply do NOT have the time to list the ways in which i am in love with myself right now.

*note, success factors include music recognition, barriers to even greater success included lack of history knowledge and failure to see every boy movie ever made.
